Description
Food for special medical purposes in the form of enteric-coated capsules containing butyric acid sodium salt (sodium butyrate – 150 mg) in the form of microgranules.
Butyric acid is the primary energy source for the epithelium of the gastrointestinal tract.
The specialised microgranule form ensures that sodium butyrate is released along the entire length of the small and large intestines.
Sodium butyrate is recommended for dietary management:
- in cases of intestinal hypersensitivity (irritable bowel syndrome – IBS),
- in disorders of the intestinal microbiota,
- in diarrhoea following antibiotic therapy,
- in intestinal infections and inflammatory diseases of the gastric mucosa,
- in short-chain fatty acid deficiencies,
- in patients following cancer treatment (including intestinal inflammation following radiotherapy).
Indications: for dietary management: in cases of bowel dysfunction (irritable bowel syndrome); in inflammatory diseases of the gastric and intestinal mucosa (including inflammatory bowel disease and diarrhoea of various aetiologies); in disorders of the intestinal flora; in short-chain fatty acid deficiencies; in patients following cancer treatment (including intestinal inflammation following radiotherapy); in intestinal infections and diarrhoea (including following antibiotic therapy).
RECOMMENDED DAILY PORTION:
- Adults: 1 capsule twice daily, in the morning and in the evening. It is recommended to use for a period of at least 3 months. Children over 7 years of age: 1 capsule daily, preferably in the evening. It is recommended to use for a period of at least 6 weeks. The capsule should be swallowed whole (without chewing or spilling the contents), with a glass of water. Best taken with a meal.
INGREDIENTS:
Starch, sodium stearate, bulking agent – microcrystalline cellulose, capsule (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, gellan gum), anti-caking agent – magnesium salts of fatty acids.
This product is not intended for parenteral use.
This product must be taken under medical supervision.
This product is intended for adults and children over 7 years of age.
This product must not be used as the sole source of nutrition.
May contain derivatives of: cereals containing gluten, soya, milk.
