Description
EspuActiv FORTE is intended for use in order to:
- alleviating the feeling of fullness,
- a feeling of flatulence,
- belching,
- ailments connected with excessive accumulation of gas and air in the digestive tract causing tension and pressure in the intestines,
- reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the intestines, thus facilitating their rupture and subsequent expulsion.
The medical device EspuActiv FORTE contains 240 mg of simethicone in a gelatine soft capsule.
The components of the casing are pork gelatine, glycerol.
Symethicone has a surface action and does not enter into any chemical reactions. It is a pharmacologically and physiologically inert substance.
EspuActiv FORTE is intended for use
auxiliary in order to:
- preparing patients for diagnostic examinations of the abdominal cavity (ultrasonography, endoscopy, radiography and colonoscopy),
- removing gases and air from the gastrointestinal tract, thus improving the quality of the images obtained.
The medical device does not contain sugar or dyes.
RECOMMENDED DAILY PORTION:
EspuActiv FORTE capsules from Activlab Pharma are taken orally, before or after a meal, with an adequate amount of liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water). It is not recommended to drink carbonated beverages while taking the preparation.
Symptoms related to tension and pressure in the intestines:
Adults: ad hoc, 1 capsule, 2-4 times daily. Maximum of 4 capsules per day (960 mg of simethicone).
Pregnant women: dosage and use as prescribed by doctor or pharmacist.
No dosage adjustment is required in diabetic patients.
Children 12 to 18 years: adjuvant, 1 capsule daily.
Preparation for diagnostic tests:
Adults: 1 capsule in the evening on the day before the diagnostic test and 1 capsule in the morning, on an empty stomach, on the day of the diagnostic test. Pregnant women: dosage and use as recommended by the doctor or pharmacist.
No dosage adjustment is required in diabetic patients.
Children 12 to 18 years: 1 capsule in the evening on the day before the diagnostic test and 1 capsule in the morning, fasting, on the day of the diagnostic test.
The product can be used in diabetic patients and those with impaired digestion of sugars.
Use of the product during pregnancy and lactation requires consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.
Due to the effects of simethicone and the lack of its absorption from the gastrointestinal tract into the body, no harmful effects are expected from the use of the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Omission of EspuActiv FORTE Activlab Pharma.
Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose. A single dose can be supplemented at any time.
PRECAUTIONS:
Do not take more than 4 capsules per day in adults and 1 capsule per day in children over 12 years of age.
Symethicone may reduce the bioavailability of concomitantly taken medicines. If concomitant use of the device with other medicines is necessary, there should be a break of at least one hour between taking the medical device EspuActiv FORTE Activlab Pharma and other preparations.
If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
In case of concomitant use of levothyroxine and simethicone, a 4-hour interval should be observed.
If symptoms worsen or persist for a prolonged period, seek medical advice.
Driving and operating machinery:
No data available on the effect of the product on machine handling and driving.
Contraindications:
When not to use the medical device EspuActiv FORTE Activlab Pharma:
- in case of hypersensitivity to simethicone or any of the components of the device,
- in children under 12 years of age,
- in case of known or suspected perforation or obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract.
STORAGE:
Store in the original container at 15-25ºC.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use the product after the expiry date placed on the blister and the outer packaging.
